Volunteer Leadership Training

In order to help Sister Cities Association of Sarasota board members, city directors and volunteers grow as individual leaders, guidance on a variety of topics essential to building a successful sister program is provided as needed for new board members. Areas of expertise and training by SCAS and Sister Cities International includes:

  • Finance/accounting/budgeting
  • Fundraising, grant writing, and improving individual giving
  • Nonprofit management/ Volunteer management
  • Monitoring and evaluation of program success
  • Engaging elected officials
  • Communications and Public Relations
  • Orientation of all new board members and city directors conducted within one month after election or appointment
  • Board Member Handbook policies & procedures provided at time of orientation
