The Lunar New Year, or Spring Festival, is a vibrant celebration of the start of the lunar calendar.
This year, come join the Sister Cities Association of Sarasota and Ringling College as we celebrate the Year of the Zodiac Snake! This free community event will liven up your Sunday and help you welcome in 2025!
What to Expect at the Event
There will be numerous cultural performances, hands-on activities, fortune cards, and fun Asian snacks for all guests. Complimentary parking is available.
Background of the Festival
It’s filled with centuries-old traditions, dazzling performances and regional delicacies that symbolize renewal, prosperity, and good fortune. This joyous holiday is a time-honored expression of Chinese culture and heritage and recently inscribed on the Intangible Cultural Heritage List by UNESCO.
