About Kun Shi:

Kun Shi holds a Masters Degree in cultural anthropology from The Ohio State University. He retired from USF World in 2019 and now volunteers for OLLI-USF and Sarasota Sister Cities. For over two decades before that, he worked as a social worker and program evaluator in Ohio, and program director for the OSU Chinese Flagship Program and for USF World. He has taught OLLI classes since 2011 and was awarded the Faculty Roll of Honor in 2016.

About Randy Runnels:

Randy Runnels received his PhD in Oceanography from Texas A&M University. Starting in 2008, he worked with NOAA and the State Oceanic Administration (SOA) on a variety of coastal management issues in China, including multiple visits to Xiamen. For six years, he represented the State of Florida on the Gulf of Mexico Alliance’s Habitat Conservation and Restoration Team. For over two decades, he has managed four aquatic preserves in the Tampa Bay area for the State of Florida. He has taught marine biology courses at several universities, and is currently an adjunct faculty at St. Petersburg College and Mote Marine Lab.

A Meet & Greet with the speakers will follow at 6:30 pm at P.F. Chang’s (766 S Ospry Ave, Sarasota).
